Area formula of a triangle is:
A =
(1)/(2) bh
We know the area and the height, so substitute to find the base

A = 70 m²
h = 8.75 m or
8 (3)/(4) m (its the same thing)

70 =
(1)/(2) × b × 8.75
70 = 4.375b
Divide by 4.375 on either sides to isolate b

(70)/(4.375) = (4.375b)/(4.375)
4.375 and 4.375 cancels out

16 m = b

The base of this triangle is 16 m
