Why did Americans move west in early to mid 1800s

In 1800s, Americans moved to west because they wanted to start again. It began when President Thomas Jefferson bought the Louisiana Purchase. Americans want to try buying their own land and growing it They wanted to be able to explore economic possibilities and opportunities.
