It's pretty easy, it means that Paul has twice as many games as Mike has. But mathematically we can write it down as:
6 = 1/2 x / * 2 (both sides)
x = 12

If Mike has half as many as Paul, then Paul has twice as many as Mike.
Mike = Paul/2 so 6 = Paul/2
Multiply both sides by 2
12 = Paul
or
Paul = Mikex2
Paul = 6x2
Paul = 12
