The sequence of the mRNA strand is UGCUGC

Explanation;

  • During gene expression, well referred to as central dogma of life occurs in two step process, namely transcription and translation, where information flows from genes to proteins.
  • During the process of transcription DNA molecule is used to synthesis a messenger RNA (mRNA). This is process is catalyzed by enzyme RNA polymerase. During transcription, base Adenine pairs with Uracil in the mRNA sequence but not Thyamine like in the DNA sequence, Guanine on the other hand pairs with cytosine.
  • RNA contains uracil instead of thyamine like in the case of DNA sequence.
