Even though the phone is ringing no sound comes out of the jar. What does this tell you about the space inside the jar?

That tells me that before the place where you began to copy the question,
the air had all been pumped out of the jar, and there's nothing left in there
that can carry sound waves from the telephone to the walls of the jar.

Answer:

the space inside the jar is vacuum.

Step-by-step explanation:

As the sound waves require a medium for their propagation and no sound coming out of the jar, it means that there is no medium in the jar. Thus, the space in the jar is vacuum.
