P(1,2)\ \ \ Q(5,4)\\\\ PQ=√((x_Q-x_P)^2+(y_Q-y_P)^2)\\\\ PQ=√((5-1)^2+(4-2)^2)=√(16+4)=√(20)=2√(5)\approx4,5\\\\ Length\ of\ this\ segment\ is\ equal\ to\ 4,5.

Hello,

d= \sqrt{ (x_(2)-x_(1))^(2)+(y_(2)-y_(1))^(2) } \\ \\ d=\sqrt{ (5-1)^(2)+(4-2)^(2) } \\ \\ d=\sqrt{ 4^(2)+2^(2) } \\ \\ d= √(16+4) \\ \\ d= √(20) \\ \\d= \sqrt{2^(2)*5 }\\ \\d= 2√(5 ) \\ \\ d=4.5

Answer: lenght= 4.5
