The general equation of quadratic equation is,

ax^2+bx+c=0

If value of coefficient of x^2 (a) is more than 0 (or positive), then graph of the quadratic equation open upwards.

If value of coefficient of x^2 (a) is less than 0 (or negative), the graph open in downward direction.

If value of coefficients of x^2 (a) is more than 1, then graph open upward and narrow than the graph with 1 as the coeeficient of x^2.

If value of coefficient of x^2 (a) is less than 1 and more than 0, then graph open upwards and boarder then the graph of quadratic equation with a = 1.
