these things are related because hypertension is a sign of heart disease, ans stroke is CAUSED by heart disease.

Atherosclerosis is the blockage of a artery due to the build up of plague. Hypertension may be a sign of early heart disease and atherosclerosis. The build up can travel to the brain and cause a stroke.
