Assume that the first prism have dimension l, w and h. Therefore its volume is:


V=lwh\text{ }

Now, the second prism after applying the scale factor has dimensions 59.5l, 59.5w and 59.5h, hence its volume will be:


\begin{gathered} V^(\prime)=59.5l\cdot59.5w\cdot59.5h \\ =210644.9lwh \\ =210644.9V \end{gathered}

Therefore, the scale factor for the volume is 210,644.9.

The are of the base of a rectangular prism is given by:


A_b=lw

hence, in this case we have:


A_b=5\cdot10=50

Therefore the area of the base is 50 squared units.
