Given:

The length of a TV is
(16)/(9) times the width.

Length of the new TV = 32 inches.

To find:

The width of the new TV.

Solution:

Let x be the width of the new TV.

It is given that, the length of a TV is
(16)/(9) times the width.

Length=(16)/(9)x

Length of the new TV = 32 inches.

32=(16)/(9)x

32* (9)/(16)=(16)/(9)x* (9)/(16)

18=x

Therefore, the width of the new TV is 32 inches.
