.Given:

\begin{gathered} f(x)=-x+1 \\ g(x)=x^2-2x-1 \end{gathered}

ToDetermine: The value of

f(1)+g(2)

Solution

\begin{gathered} f(x)=-x+1 \\ f(1)=-1+1 \\ f(1)=0 \end{gathered}
\begin{gathered} g(x)=x^2-2x-1 \\ g(2)=(2)^2-2(2)-1 \\ g(2)=4-4-1 \\ g(2)=-1 \\ f(1)+g(2)=0+(-1) \\ f(1)+g(2)=-1 \end{gathered}

Hence, f(1) + g(2) = -1
