The origins of Christianity were formed during jesus's times, by Jesus and his followers, Keep in mind that jesus was born into a place where many and almost all of the people that lived in that time period were Jewish so anything else was very frowned upon and given very little care.

So the Christian bible was based off of many things that the Jewish writings have. In conclusion the Christian Belief has many things in common with Jewish beliefs.

It emerged from Judaism and was based on the teachings of Jesus.

The Law and the Prophets -- the holy books of Judaism -- became the Old Testament of the Christian faith. The New Testament was added to that, which described the life of Jesus (in the Gospels) and expounded on the teachings of Jesus (in the Epistles).
