It looks like the T cells are not helping at all anymore and more people are continouosly getting aids.

Well according to this graph, the helper T cells are going down. Helper T cells help with immunity to infections and diseases. AIDS attacks the immune system, this will ultimately destroy the immune system, thus killing the individual.
