Bonds having an interest range of 3 -12 months are called Treasury bills or T-bills (a). Treasury bills are government securities which are short-termed. They are the most marketable security and safest due to their simplicity. They are issued by a bidding process. They do not have an interest however they are issued with a discount in order to give return to the holder.
