Answer: The primary productivity can be defined as the rate at which the energy is transformed by chemosynthetic and photosynthetic organisms to organic compounds.

If the primary productivity of an ecosystem increases the net primary productivity will also increase as net primary productivity represents energy available to primary consumers( energy remains after respiration and heat loss by primary producers), it will lead to availability of sufficient amount of food.
