First, write about Elrond. Explain who he is. Explain how he is described. What does it mean to be: “strong as a warrior, wise as a wizard, venerable as a king of dwarves, and as kind as summer”? Tell me about these qualities and why they are good and necessary qualities in a leader.

What is the purpose of them stopping in Rivendell for two weeks? It’s not just to rest. What else is gained (in the plot) by this pause?
