an object is launched upward from ground level and reaches a maximum height of h feet. The initial velocity v (in feet per seconds) of the object is given by the function v=8 square h. Write the function in terms of h.

So we want to rewrite the function v=8h^2 in terms of h so that it can represent the height of an object that is launched upward. So we take a square root: sqrt v= h*sqrt 8. Then we divide both sides of the equation with sqrt 8: h=(sqrt v)/sqrt 8=sqrt(v/8). So our function is: h=sqrt(v/8) or h=(1/2)*sqrt(v/2).
