slope=rise/run
slope=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1) if you have the points
(x1,y1) and (x2,y2)

we have the points (-1,3) and (4,-7)
x1=-1
y1=3
x2=4
y2=-7

slope=(-7-3)/(4-(-1))=-10/5=-2

answer is D
