Hey there,
Make a proportion: 18 miles/1 hour=270 miles/x hours.
Now, we cross multiply, 18x=270.
18x/18x=270/18.
270/18=15.
Answer:
x=15 hours

If the train travels 18 mph you just have to divide 270 by 18 and that would be your answer.
So 270/18 = 15 which means it would take the train
15 hours
to travel 270 miles.
