So the given is that the width is x feet
and that the length is 5 feet longer than its width

Width = x
Length = 5 + x

More:
If you want to find the perimeter:
2 × width + 2 × length
2 × (x) + 2 × (5 + x) - it is a rectangle
2x + 10 + 2x
4x + 10 ft

If area:
width × length
x × (5 + x)
5x + x² ft²

x^2 +5x Should be your answer because:
Rectangle area=width * length
Width= x
Length=x+5
Rectangle area=x*(x+5)=x^2 + 5x,

I hope this helps!
