Which is equal to 10^12/10^-3 ?

A. 10^-36
B. 10^-4
C. 10^9
D. 10^15
Please explain the answer :)

When dividing exponents with the same base, you must subtract the second exponent from the first:

(10^(12))/(10^(-3))
=
10^(12 - (-3))
=
10^(12 + 3)
=
10^(15)

So D is the correct response. Hope this helps! :)
