Rising sea levels and storm force winds would be good examples of processes which would cause increased abrasion along a coastal region.

These would be natural weathering. A costal region suggests that there are strong winds, which cause abrasion of rock, and rising tides or weathering by water, which can also cause abrasion. Abrasion is physical, so there would be no chemical weathering involved.
