Problem f

we have

6 miles in 24 minutes

step 1

Find out the unit rate in miles per minute

6/24=1/4 miles per minute

Convert to miles per hour

1 hour=60 minute

1 minute=1/60

(1/4) miles/minute=(1/4)/(1/60)=60/4=15 miles per hour

Part g

Find out the average in kilometers per hour

Remember that

1 mile=1.60934 km

therefore

15 miles per hour=15*1.60934=24.14 km per hour

30 minutes=0.5 hours

therefore

24.14 km per hour *0.5 hours=12.07 km

in 30 minutes Shannon ride 12.07 km
