I have 2 geometry questions:

1. Use 3.14 to approximate pi and express your answer in hundredths. What is the
volume of a sphere that has a radius of 7.5 ft? I got 1766.25

2.A storage tank holds 235,500 in3 of a chemical. The chemical is dispensed to completely fill 25 identical cylindrical containers, each with a radius of 5 in. What is the height of the cylindrical containers? Use 3.14 to approximate pi. (I don't know this one.)

Solutions

A sphere has a radius of 7.5 ft. To find the volume we need to use this equation ≥ v=4/3πr³.

π = ( 3. 14)

r = 7.5

Calculations

v=4/3πr³

v=4/3π ( 7.5 x 7.5 x 7.5 )

v=4/3
π (421)

v=4/3 (3.14) (421)

v=4/3 (
1321)

v=1.3 (1321)

v =
1717.3.

Solutions

A storage tank holds 235,500 in³ of a chemical. The chemical is dispensed to completely fill 25 identical cylindrical containers, each with a radius of 5 inches.

To solve this problem we have to use this equation -
V = πr²h. We know the radius is 5 and the volume is 235,500³.

Calculations

V = πr²h
235,500³ = (3.14)(5)²)h
235,500³ = (3.14) (25))h
235,500³ = 78.5

(235,500)/(78.5)
(78.5)/(78.5)

235,500
÷ 78.5 = h

h = 3000
