Mya has 5 pink bows,1 blue bow and 4 purple bows in a box.

Total number of bows = number of pink bows + Number of blue bows + Number of purple bows

Total number of bows = 5 + 1 + 4

Total number of bows = 10

Probability is define as the ratio of the total number of favourable outcomes to the total number of possible outcomes.

\text{ Probability=}\frac{Number\text{ of favoutable Outcomes}}{Total\text{ number of outcomes}}

We need to find the probability of choosing one purple bow

So, favourable outcomes = Purple bow

Thus, Probability of choosing one purple bow is express as:

\begin{gathered} \text{Probability}=\frac{Number\text{ of purple bows}}{Total\text{ number of bows}} \\ \text{ Probability=}(4)/(10) \\ \text{ Probability=}(2)/(5) \\ \text{ Probability=}0.4 \end{gathered}

So, Probability of choosing one purple bow is 0.4

Answer : Probability of choosing one purple bow = 0.4
