How do u turn 1 1/3 into a improper fraction

Simple,

you have
1 (1)/(3)

to change any mixed number into an improper fraction,

you would take the whole number, multiply it by the denominator, add the

numerator to it, then put the original denominator from the mixed fraction

on the new numerator you have.

EXAMPLE:


1 (1)/(3) (whole number*denominator) 1*3=3 (add numerator) 3+1=4 (use denominator from original)

Thus, making your answer,


(4)/(3)

Out have to mutiply the whole number into a fraction then put it in the numerators spot. 1x3=3 1+3=4 4/3. Hope this helps.
