Step-by-step explanation:

There are many kinds of prefixes which are used in the metric system. The most common prefixes that are used are :- mega, centi, milli, nano, kilo, fermi, pico, etc.

These are used to designate a subdivision or a multiple of the unit in order to deal with very small numbers or very large numbers . All of these prefixes designate the power of 10.

For example, kilo represents 1000 of the unit.
