The answer to this question would be: a. temperature and number of particles are constant.

The relation of pressure, temperature and the number of particles can be seen in PV=nRT formula. Pressure and volume will be inversely related, but the temperature and number of particles will influence it. A higher temperature or higher number of particles definitely will increase the volume or the pressure. So, those conditions must be made/assumed constant.
