so you set up a ratio of 6/10=x/15. To solve for x, you have to multiply by 15 on both sides. Then you have 15 times 6/10 so the 15 and 10 can simplify to 3 and 2 by dividing by 5. Then you have 3 times 6 divided by 2 which equals 9 cups!

Bill's original ratio is like this...
6 to 10

You need to solve for this...
x to 15

You have to multiply both sides of the original ratio by 15...
6 times 15 = 90
10 times 15 = 150

Your new ratio is 90 to 150
Which reduces to 3 to 5

Yout new ratio is 3 to 5
