The dialogue in a story is supposed to imitate real conversations so that statement would be false

The answer is " false". I'll explain why :

The dialogue refers to a conversation between two or more people. It is probably the most natural form of communication. That's why in a story, the dialogue must be designed to imitate real conversations.
