How do you turn a fraction into a decimal and a decimal into a fraction

Turning a fraction into a decimal:

When turning a fraction in to a decimal, you divide. For example, when you turn 3/5 in to a decimal, you would have to do 3 divided by 5, which is 0.6.

Turning a decimal in to a fraction:

When turning a decimal into a fraction, you put the number over a hundred. For example, if you have .15, it would be 3/20 because you (15/100) divide both numbers by the same number which is 5.

A decimal with one place after the dot (point) is as much as a fraction x/10. A decimal with two places after the dot is x/100 and so on. For example:

0.1 = 1/10
0.5 = 5/10
1.4 = 1 4/10 or 14/10
50.37 = 50 37/100
99.99 = 99 99/100

To turn fractions into decimals, you'll have to bring the denominator to 10, 100, 1000 etc. For example:

1/2 = 5/10 = 0.5
5/25 = 20/100 = 0.2
18/50 = 36/100 = 0.36
