When you hear a "pure tone" ... like the sound of a tuning fork
or an audio oscillator ... the pitch you perceive tracks directly
with the frequency.
The 128 Hz tuning fork will sound lower than the 512 Hz one.
In fact, it will sound exactly two octaves lower.
