The herpes simplex virus and the human immunodeficiency virus are both transmitted sexually. These viruses take down the patient's immune system. However, when a patient is HSV positive doesn't mean he/she is also HIV positive. Nevertheless, a person that is being infected with HSV is most likely has the higher risk of getting HIVĀ
