1/3+1/2= 5/6 (multiply each denominator by what both of the fractions can equal, so 1/3= 2/6 and 1/2= 3/6. add 3/6 and 2/6 together) ( whatever you do to the top you do to the bottom)

3/4-1/2= 1/4 ( 3/4 equals 3/4 since 1/2 already equals 2/4, u dont need to change anything to 3/4) but make sure you make 1/2 equal to 3/4 so you can subtract easily!
