Total students that passed chemistry exams = 20
Total students that passed physics exams = 14
Total students that passed both physics and chemistry exams = 6
Let P denotes students who passed physics test , C denotes students who passed physics test and S denotes total students that took exam.
There are only two possibility that either student passed or fails in exam.
So, total students passed = total student passed in physics + total student passed in chemistry - total student passed in both
= 14+20-6 = 28
Thus 2 (30-28) students got failed in both the exams.
