-12° in your friend's place
54° in your place

54- (-12) = 66°
or
-12 - 55 = 66°

66° is the difference in temperatures.

Answer:

The difference in the temperature is 66°.

Explanation:

Given,

She told that today temperature is 12° below zero where she lives.

⇒ The temperature in her place = -12°, ( Because, the temperature below zero is always negative )

While, the temperature in my place = 54°.

Since, 54° > - 12°

Hence, the difference in temperatures = The temperature in my place - The temperature in her place

= 54° - ( - 12°)

= 54° + 12°

= 66°
