Area (triangle)=(base x height) / 2
Area=4.8 yd²
heigth=2.4 yd
4.8 yd²=(base * 2.4 yd)/2
base=(4.8 yd² * 2) / 2.4 yd=4 yd
answer: the length of the base is 4 yards.
