Describe the movement of water if cells are in a hypertonic solution, hypotonic solution, and isotonic solution.

Water molecules move inside the cell in a hypotonic solution causing it to swell


Water molecules move outside the cell in a hypertonic solution causing it to shrink


Water molecules in an isotonic solution does not move inside or outside the cell and the cell’s volume will remain stable
