Divide 117 by three to get the middle name number, then you subtract one and add one to 1 of the three 39's to get your numbers as 38, 39, 40. And the largest number. Is 40. Hope this helped.

consecutive means right after each other
difference of 1
numbers are
x,x+1,x+2
their sum is 117
x+x+1+x+2=117
add
3x+3=117
subtract 3 form both sides
3x=114
divide both sides by 114
x=38
largest number is x+2
38=x
x+2=38+2=40
largest number is 40
