Brand A: 8(fl oz):$1:28
Brand B: 12:1.68
1)divide each side of the ratio
8:1.28 = 1:0.16
divide 8 by 8, and 1.28 by 8.
12: 1.68 = 1:0.14
divide each side by 12.
so, for brand A, for every one fluid oz it costs $0.16. for brand B, for every one fluid oz, it costs $0.14.
0.16-0.14= 0.02
$0.02 per fluid oz

Answer:

The difference between both brands is $0,02

Explanation:

To compare both cost per ounce , we must get this cost for each brand. We get it dividing the price by the content.

Brand A contains 8 fluid ounces and costs $1.28.

CostA=$1.28/8 ounces

CostA=$0,16 per ounce

Brand B contains 12 fluid ounces and costs $1.68.

CostB=$1.68/12

CostB=$0,14 per ounce

The difference between both brands is Cost A- Cost B

CostA-CostB=$0,16 per ounce -$0,14 per ounce

Dif=$0,02
