Solution

Given the following numbers

6,9,4,1,7,3

The above data are ungrouped.

To find the mean, the formula is

\begin{gathered} Mean=(x_1+x_2+x_3+\cdots+x_n)/(n) \\ \bar{x}=\frac{\sum^{}_{}x}{n} \end{gathered}

Where n is the number of values

Substituting the values into the formula to find the mean

\begin{gathered} n=6 \\ \bar{x}=(6+9+4+1+7+3)/(6) \\ \bar{x}=(30)/(6) \\ \bar{x}=5 \end{gathered}

Hence, the mean is 5
