The slope between two points A and B is given by the formula:

m=(y_B-y_A)/(x_B-x_A)

Replace the coordinates of the given points (1,1) and (-4,-3) to find the slope between those two points:

m=((1)-(-3))/((1)-(-4))=(1+3)/(1+4)=(4)/(5)

Plot the points (1,1) and (-4,-3). Then, draw the line through them:

Notice that the line goes up by 4 units for each 5 units that it goes to the right. This confirms that the slope is 4/5.

Therefore, the value of the slope of the line that passes through the points (1,1) and (-4,-3) is 4/5.

Use the slope formula to find the slope betweenthe 2 points:(1, 1)and(--4, -3)m=-(Plot-example-1
