y=-1 is horizontal line.

Let coordinate of image (a,b)

Point (2,-4) reflected about y=-1.

When point reflect about the horizontal line their x-coordinate doesn't change. a=2

Only change in y-coordinate.

First we find the distance of y-coordinate from the line y=-1

Distance = |-4 - (-1) | = |-3| = 3

Point (2,-4) is 3 unit below the line y=-1

Image of this point must be 3 unit above the y=-1

3=|b-(-1)|

3=b+1

b=2

Hence, The coordinate of image of given point is (2,2)
