The culture of Mexico has been shaped by the interaction of many different people. In particular, indigenous people, mestizos and Spaniards. Mexico currently identifies 62 native languages as official, which shows the diversity of indigenous population in the country. Moreover, the majority of the population are "mestizos," which refers to people of a mixed indigenous and European ancestry. The European population, although much smaller nowadays, was significant throughout Mexican history. Finally, Mexico has always had a significant population of African and Asian immigrants.
