Add 37 to each side of the equation to get 75. Now get x alone by dividing 15 on both sides. X gets isolated or by itself and 75 divided by 15 is 2,
so your final answer is: x=5.
Hope this helps:)

15x - 37 = 38
+ 37 + 37
15x = 75
÷15 ÷15
x = 5
To check:
15x - 37 = 38
15(5) - 37 = 38
75 - 37 = 38
38 = 38
