What is true of lfie in the West is that no permanent class of laborers existed there. This is mostly because this region underwent a lot of changes which ccreated a very fluid social stratification system.

The answer is: No permanent class of laborers existed.

Under free market system, competition happen among all people on the nations. Less government involvement meaning that every body could experience a change in social class/stratification at any moment as long as they able to acquire enough capital to move their status.
