factor
find wht 2 numbers add to 8 and multiply to 3
none do

use quadratic formula which can be used when
ax^2+bx+c=0
x=
\frac{-b+/- \sqrt{b^(2)}-4ac }{2a}

a=1
b=8
c=3

x=
\frac{-8+/- \sqrt{8^(2)-4(1)(3)} }{2(1)}
x=
( -8+/- √(64-12) )/(2)
x=
( -8+/- √(52) )/(2)
x=
( -8+/- 2 √(13) )/(2)
x=
-4+/- √(13)

x=
-4+ √(13) or x=
-4- √(13)
aprox x=-7.60555 or x=-0.394449
