What are the characteristics of monosaccharide?

Simple Monosaccharides are carbohydrates, do not undergo the process back. These organic compounds are therefore carbohydrates polymerised. A to have most Monosaccharides 3 to 6 carbon atoms. Constitute an important source of energy for operation and maintenance.

Monosaccharides:
Fructose: present in most fruits. Its main function is to provide energy to the human body.
Glucose: also has energy function. Also found in fruits.
Galactose: present in lactose (milk sugar). Provides energy to the human body.
Ribose: compose the structure of RNA (ribonucleic acid).
