Subtracting the lowest score in a data set from the highest is the appropriate way to calculate the range. Correct answer: A

The range of a data set is the difference between the largest number and the smallest number.Example: In {3, 8, 5, 11, 20} the lowest value is 3, and the highest is 20. It follows that the range is 20-3=17.

When we're substracting the lowest score in a dataset from the highest score in the dataset, we're basically calculating the range of the dataset. This tells us wher all the values of a dataset will fall in.

What psychology commonly studies is age, sleep patterns and aggression.

Human origins are therefore not the answer.

The correct answers are a) range and d) human origins.
