I believe this is substitution?

2x-y=-8
x=4y-4

You have what x is so plug it in.

2(4y-4)-y=-8
8y-8-y=-8
7y-8=-8 is your answer.

Solve x = 4y-4 for x

Substitute 4y-4 for x in 2x -y = -8

2x-y = -8

2(4y-4)-y=-8

Simplify both sides of the equation

7y-8=-8

Add 8 to both sides

7y-8+8= -8+8

7y= 0

Divide both sides by 7

7y/7= 0/7

y= 0

Substitute 0 for y in x= 4y-4

x= 4y-4

x= (4)(0)-4

Simplify both sides of the equation

x= -4

Answer : x= -4 and y= 0

I hope that's help and have a great night !
